Who Microsoft 365 is best for
Businesses of up to 300 users on Business plans (larger organisations use Enterprise plans) that rely on Excel, Word and Outlook, or work with clients and partners who do. Choose it over Google Workspace when desktop Office apps, Teams or Microsoft security tooling matter.
Key features
- Desktop, web and mobile Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Business email with 100 GB mailbox on Standard and Premium
- 1 TB OneDrive storage per user and SharePoint sites
- Microsoft Teams chat, meetings and webinars
- Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook on Standard and Premium
- Intune device management and advanced security on Business Premium
Why it’s worth it
It gives a team the full desktop Office apps, email, file storage and Teams in one subscription, which is the standard many clients, accountants and enterprises expect to exchange files with.
Things to consider
- Plan names and Teams and no-Teams versions make choosing the right licence confusing
- Business plans cap at 300 users
- Business Basic only includes web and mobile Office apps, not desktop versions
